Chapter 14. Navigation and Manage Sets of Books
Open Set of Books
This option is used to open a Set of Books. The Set of Books must already exist in any available directory on your

computer system or network. The list of Books that appear in the List box is a composite list of valid TurboCASH
Sets of Books. Each Set of Books must be kept in a separate directory. The composite list consists of firstly, al
valid Sets of Books under the TCASH3 directory (or the directory where TurboCASH is instal ed) and secondly,
additional Sets of Books that have been added to the list. (These would be Sets of Books that are in other
directories, for example on another part of the hard disk or somewhere on a mapped drive on the network).
Procedure 14.1. To Open a Set of Books:
1. Click on the File->Open Set of Books menu option, or click on the Open icon. You may also press the
Alt-O keys on your keyboard. The fol owing screen is displayed:
Tip
If a Set of Books is not located in the TCASH3 or other directory where TurboCASH is installed,
(elsewhere on your system) the name of the Set of Books is displayed in a blue colour.
2. Select the Set of Books which you would like to open.
3. Click on the Open button.
Note
The Browse icon will allow you to add a Set of Books to the List. If you click on the Browse button,
you may select from any other Directory. The Pick a Directory Screen will be displayed. You must pick
a valid TurboCASH Set of Books. If the directory does not contain a valid Set of Books, it will not be
added to the list. The Browse button is equivalent to an "Add" button.
Note
The Purge List icon will remove the highlighted item. This function does not delete the files from the
directory. To delete files from a directory you must use the File->Delete Set of Books menu option.
You cannot Purge a Set of Books located in the TCASH Directory. To remove a Set of Books located
in the TCASH Directory, you will need to use the File->Delete Set of Books menu option. If you wish
to remove a Set of Books from the list, but keep the files, you need to move the whole Directory out of
the TCASH3 directory using WindowsTM Explorer or other file/folder management program.
Note
The Properties icon will display the holding Directory for the Set of Books named in the List.
If you click on the Properties icon, the following screen is displayed:
