Quick Start
TurboCASH allows you to get started whatever your requirements are within a matter of minutes. To this end,
TurboCASH provides the fol owing options:
1. Previous Users of TurboCASH versions 3.04 to 3.6i - TurboCASH automatically converts your data for
a Set of Books to Version 3.7 - You only need to open the Set of Books and TurboCASH will automatical y
convert the data for you. You are then ready to work in your existing Set of Books in this TurboCASH

 

version.
2. Previous Users of TurboCASH versions 2000, 2.01, 2.02 and 2.03 - The Creation Wizard wil guide
you through a process to select the old Set of Books and to specify the name and location on your system
in which you wish to convert your existing data. TurboCASH wil automatical y convert the data.
3. Previous Users of Pastel Version 5.2 - The Pastel Conversion Assistant guides you through a process
to select the old Set of Books and to specify the name and location on your system in which you wish to
convert your existing data. TurboCASH wil automatical y convert the data.
4. Advanced Users - Use the Creation Wizard to guide you through a process to create a Set of Books with
only Debtors, Creditors Control Accounts and the Retained Earnings Account. Al the system settings and
the Charts of Accounts, Groups, etc. need to be set and created from scratch.
5. New users of TurboCASH who do not have any Sets of Books in a previous version of TurboCASH
or Pastel version 5.2 - These users may have started a new business or already have a business or
organisation for which they already have data and statements from another accounting system.
TurboCASH has provided you with a basic set of templates, or Set of Books, from which you can select to
get started in minutes.

Retail Entity - trading in stock items.

Service Entity - using pre-printed source documents, Invoices, etc. and which do not trade in
stock items.
Retail Entity - Start-up Reference
Retail Entity - Trading in Stock Items, TurboCASH wil generate documents (Invoices, Credit Notes, Quotes for
your debtors (customers) and Purchase, Goods Returned and Orders for your creditors (suppliers)). TurboCASH
can guide you through the process to create the Set of Books. Al you need to do, is enter a few basic details and
select a few options.
Procedure 12.1. Retail Entity - Reference Guide:
1. Create your Set of Books.
2. Enter the Company Information:
a. Company name - Trading name of the business or organisation.
b. Address - The address to be displayed on Statements, Remittance Advices, Documents, etc.
c. E-mail Address - If you have an e-mail address and a valid account with an Internet Service
Provider (ISP). (If any).
d. Telephone number - The telephone number to be displayed on Statements and Remittance
Advices. (If any).
e. Fax number - The fax number to be displayed on Statements and Remittance Advices. (If any).
f.
Company Registration number - The registration number. If the business or organisation is
registered as a company, close corporation, non-profit organisation (NO) or non-governmental
organisation (GO) or as registered in terms of any other legislation.
g. VAT/GST/Sales Tax Registration number - The VAT/GST/Sales Tax Registration number.
(Only if you are registered for VAT/GST/Sales Tax, otherwise, leave it blank).
