HELP SYSTEM
CONTENTS TAB IN THE HELP FILE
  
The Contents tab of the Help File list and group the topics similar to that of a book. The topics in the Table of Contents in this Help File is structured in the following chapters:
  1. Welcome to TurboCASH- - This is the home page of this Help File. It consists of links to access the major topics in this help file.


  2. The TurboCASH Program - The main program is discussed briefly. You may click on any area of the picture to simulate what the TurboCASH program will do. For example, if you click on a speed button or icon: or a menu option, the associated topic for that menu option will be launched. This heading in the Table of Contents consists of each function in the various menu options (File, Edit, Input, Reports, Setup, Tools and Help) in TurboCASH. The Speed toolbar and the TurboMenu is also discussed in this section.


  3. Help System - The various features of the Help Viewer are briefly discussed as well as to optimise the Help System in TurboCASH. It also contains links to send e-mail for support, to browse and download files from Pink Software's Web Sites, Statutory bodies, such as the South African Revenue Services (SARS), etc.

  5. What is New in TurboCASH3.7? - It contains a list and links to new features included in this program.


  6. Products and Stationery - A list of the products and stationery available from Pink Software.


  7. New to Accounting - A list of links to topics on accounting principles for the users which are not new to accounting or accounting in a computerised environment.

  8. Get Started - Information about system requirements to run the TurboCASH program, network setup, registering TurboCASH and installing the TurboCASH screen saver. It also contains a Quick Start-up Reference, listing the various options to get started.


  9. Getting Around TurboCASH - Lists the keyboard shortcuts to access the various options in TurboCASH, Speed buttons Open, Close a Set of Books and Exit TurboCASH. It also contains the topics on the search facilities, opening, saving files, etc.


  10. Customise the TurboCASH Program - Selecting colour schemes, themes or background pictures, languages and to customise your language.


  11. System Settings - Set the system date and time, date format, and currency symbol or regional settings.


  12. Protect and manage your Data - Backup, restore a set of books, using passwords, data integrity check and database rebuild.


  13. Create a Set of Books - All the options available in TurboCASH to create your company or Set of Books.


  14. Working with Master Files - Create, Edit and delete general ledger, bank, tax, debtor and creditor accounts and stock items.


  15. Working with Open Item Debtor and Creditor Accounts - to work with open item debtor an creditor accounts.


  16. Working with VAT - Setup of VAT, how VAT works in TurboCASH and to set VAT up for the Payments Based method, if you are registered for VAT on the Payments Based method.


  17. Working with Batches or Journals - The principles for setting up batches, entering transactions, editing transactions, generating multiple entries, aliases, balancing and posting of transactions, processing options, exporting and importing transactions in batches, etc.


  18. Working with Documents - Settings for stock items and documents (quotes, invoices and credit notes for debtors or customers and orders, purchase documents or goods received notes, stock or goods returned documents for creditors or suppliers). It also contains topics on cost of sales, editing documents, comments and discounts as well as posting or updating the documents to the ledger.


  19. Working with Point-of-Sales - Settings for stock, salespersons, or cashiers, the point-of sales system, starting a session, processing invoices, cash up and reports.


  20. Working with Online Banking- Settings for online banking, downloading bank statements from your bank or financial institution, saving, importing bank statement files, etc.


  21. Working with Bank Reconciliation- Reconciling your cash book (payments and receipts journals) with printed bank statements or bank statement files (online banking), bank reconciliation reports and troubleshooting differences between the bank statement and the cash book.


  22. View Reports and Documents - An example of each report and document in TurboCASH are discussed in detail.


  23. Export Data - Exporting data for documents, stock items, general ledger, debtor and creditor accounts and transactions from posted batches.


  24. Import Data - Importing data from files for documents, stock items, general ledger, debtor and creditor accounts.


  25. Service Entity - Create a set of books for a service entity, settings, take on of opening balances, daily processing, month-end and year end procedures.


  26. Retail Entity - Create a set of books for a retail entity, settings, settings for stock items and documents, take on of opening balances, daily processing, month-end and year-end procedures, etc.


  27. Adjustments - Stock Adjustments, transfer transactions (general ledger, bank, tax, debtors and creditor accounts), correction of errors, depreciation and bad debts.


  28. Year-end Adjustments - Cash and Accrual basis adjustments, private expenses, stock shortages, year-end closing transactions.


  29. Salaries and Wages - Basic principles of salaries and wages, statutory requirements, setting up the transactions in a repeating batch, importing, editing and processing payroll transactions.


  30. Source Documents - Source documents issues (cheques, deposit slips, invoices and credit notes) and source documents received (invoices and credit notes) from creditors or suppliers).
This tab should automatically be displayed when the Help File is launched, unless another tab (Index, Search or Favourites) was selected before the help File was closed or exited. In front of some of the topics in the Contents tab, you may find the sign, which indicates that there are more entries for this topic. If you double-click on a selected topic, the entries will be opened and the sign will change to a sign.

If you have pressed the key while working on a screen in the TurboCASH program, the Help File will automatically be launched and the applicable entry will be highlighted. The topic will be displayed in the topic pane.

Contents tab - Table of Contents lists the topics and sub-topics. Index tab - search for topics and keywords from a list of the available topics or keywords. Search - allows you to define criteria and to search for topics, words or phrases. Favourites tab - Bookmark - maintain a list of topics, you wish to refer to at a later stage. A list of all topics and sub-topics in the Table of Contents format. Vertical scroll bar - scroll to view more entries in the list. Horizontal scroll bar - scroll to view more characters of a topic.

If you right-click on any selected topic in the contents tab, the following shortcut will be displayed:



You may open all the entries in the contents tab or close the entries. If you select the Print option, the following screen will be displayed:

Title bar. Close button - click to cancel and exit or close this screen. Select to print only the selected topic displayed in the topic pane. Select to print the selected topic displayed in the topic pane as well as any sub-topics. Click to print the selected topic and / or sub-topics. Click to cancel and exit or close this screen.

Click on the button to print the topic and / or sub-topic.
