Using TurboCASH

 







MENU OPTIONS
FILE MENU
  
This menu lists all the functions, which you can perform on the TurboCASH program to create a new set of books, open, close or delete any existing sets of books or to exit the program. You may also save a set of books with a different name on your system or manage and protect your data of a selected set of books by making backups and restore the data from backup disk. You may also rebuild the data in a set of books if necessary.

To Access the File Menu:
Click on the File menu option or you may press the and the keys on your keyboard. A list of the 9 menu options on the file menu will be displayed. The available shortcut keys to access the options from your keyboard are indicated next to the menu option.

Click to open an existing Set of Books Click to create a Set of Books. TurboCASH will display 5 options to create a Set of Books and a Pastel 5.2 Conversion option if you have installed the Plug-ins from the CD during the installation. Click to Close an Open Set of Books. Click to Delete a Set of Books. Click to Save a Set of Books with a different name or in a Different Directory on your System. Click to Backup or Restore a Set of Books. Click to Re-index your Database. Click to switch to any other available language. You will then be able to work in the selected language. Click to exit the TurboCASH program. Click to Open, Create, Close, Delete, Save, Backup, Restore, Data Re-index a Set of Books, to Choose a Different Language or Exit the TurboCASH program. Click to create a new or edit or to delete a Bank, Creditor, Debtor, General Ledger or Tax Account, Budget, Contacts, Stock Items, User Reports, Repeating Entries, Repeating Invoices or to delete Documents. Click to do Stock Adjustments, enter transactions, copy Repeating Transactions into a Batch, generate Documents (Invoices, Credit Notes, Quotes, Purchase, Goods Returned or Orders, confirm Quotes and Orders, Print Delivery Notes or Documents, POS invoices, editing Open Item Links and to update or post documents and batches. Click to generate Batch Type, Creditor, Contact Listing, Debtor, General Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Document Listing, Stock, Sales Analysis, POS Reports, Purchase Analysis, Tax and User Reports. Click to Set up Internet, Preferences and System Parameters.
Select the available options.

 

Option Description
1. Open Set of Books - You may open any of the existing templates and tutorials which was installed or any set of books which you may have created using the Create Set of Books menu option.
2. Create Set of Books - You may create a new set of books using any of the following options on the creation wizard:
  • Convert data from an older version of TurboCASH

  • Copy an existing set of books

  • Create a new set of books where you may select a template and then TurboCASH will take you through the process.

  • Create a new set of books from scratch. (This option should be used by more advanced users).

  • Convert data from Pastel Version 5.2 - This option will only be available if the Plug-ins were installed from the installation CD.
3. Close Set of Books - You may close a open set of books. If is recommended to make backups of your data before closing a set of books.
4. Delete Set of Books - You may delete or permanently remove a selected set of books from your system. This option should be used with caution, as you need to keep your accounting records for a specific period as required by legislation for tax purposes, etc.
5. Save As - You may save a selected set of books as an exact copy in a folder anywhere on your system or on a disk.
6. Backup / Restore - This option should be used regularly. You should make regular backups of your data and store it in a safe place to protect your data from fire, theft, data corruption, etc.
  • The backup option is used to make a backup disk or file and to store the data for a selected set of books on a separate folder, file or disk.

  • The restore option is used to recover the data from a backup disk or file and to restore the data to its original state as at the time of the backup.
7. Data Re-Index - You may need to use this option to rebuild your data base or to re -index the data for a selected set of books.
8. Switch Language - You may select any of the available languages (English, Afrikaans, Espaol, French, German, Gibberish, Indonesian, Italian, Xhsa, etc.). If you have customised the language for your specific requirements, you may also select your specific language or file. The screens in the TurboCASH program will be displayed in the selected language.
9. Exit TurboCASH - This option allows you to close the TurboCASH program.
