GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTS
DELETE GENERAL LEDGER ACCOUNTS
  
You will be using this option whenever you wish to delete an existing General Ledger Account if the Account does not have any balances. Each of these General Ledger Accounts are either an Income or Expense (Income Statement account) or an Assets and Liabilities (Balance Sheet account). TurboCASH will not allow you to delete Accounts, which has Sub-accounts or any accounts. You first need to delete each of the Sub-accounts before you may delete the General Ledger Account.

If you have created a new Set of Books and you have selected one of the existing templates installed from the TurboCASH. Seven installation CD or if you have downloaded a Set of Books (template) from Pink Software's Web Site, you will already have a basic Chart of Accounts which you can use. It is recommended that you print the Chart of Accounts on the Reports - General Ledger menu option, and to check that all the required accounts are available for your requirements. You may identify Accounts, and Sub-accounts, which you will not use at all and you may wish to delete these.

To Delete an Existing General Ledger Account:
Click on the Edit - Accounts - General Ledger menu option or press the and and and keys on your keyboard. The Accounts search facility screen listing your available Accounts as well as the General Ledger Accounts screen will be displayed.

Click to save the entered data. Check that the correct details of the account to be deleted is displayed, before you click on the delete button. Select a specific account you wish to delete on the Accounts search facility. If an Account has Sub-accounts, you need to first select the Sub-accounts.
Check that the correct Account (or Sub-account) and the descriptions is displayed on the General Ledger Accounts screen and click on the Delete button. TurboCASH will display the following Confirmation Message.


Click on the button to delete the Account (or Sub-account). The following Information screen will be displayed to inform you that the Account has been deleted.


Click on the button. The Accounts search facility screen will be displayed.
Press the key on your keyboard or you may click on the Close button to close or exit the Accounts search facility screen. You may select another account number to delete another Account or you may press the key again to exit or close the General Ledger Accounts screen.

To delete a Bank Account or a Tax Account, you need to select the Tax or Bank Account in the following menu options:

If you have selected an Account, which has Sub-Accounts, and the Sub-accounts have not yet been deleted, the following Error message indicating the number of Sub-accounts, which the selected Account has, will be displayed.



Click on the button and first select and delete each of the Sub-accounts, before you may delete the selected Account.

If you have selected an Account, which has balances or transactions, the following Error message indicating that the selected Account has balances will be displayed.



Click on the button and select the correct Account (or Sub-account).
